GlobalSat DG-100 GPS Data Logger Features

The DG-100 provides accurate satellite position tracking capabilities. The Globalsat DG100 is a travel recorder that allows you to record exactly where you or anyone else has traveled via GPS. Eg. you can see the route they made either by foot or in a vehicle, and how long they were there for in that location.

GlobalSat DG-100 is a GPS data logger that records tracking data from the received GPS signal. The DG 100 records time, the date, traveling speed, altitude and GPS location at preset intervals. All you need to do is download the recorded GPS track log information by connecting the DG-100 via its own USB cable to your PC or laptop (Windows only). Then users can easily export the recorded points using Globalsync v 2.0 to view on Google Earth or Google Maps the route traveled. If photos have been taken with your digital camera. The DG-100 is compatible with Mac OS X if you use the Globalsync software.

NOTE: not compatibles with Windows 8.

Parfait.

Great for RC planes...

I have one of these, took it apart, threw the casing away and now it fits perfectly in my Radio controlled plane!

Ideal for my purposes

I bought my DG100 in January 2008, and have taken it travelling with me. It is fast at both cold and warm start, and effectively instantaneous on hot start (eg. emerging from a tunnel). It is easy to use on commercial aircraft (held against window) and has helped me figure out just what town that was I flew over multiple times. The battery life is good - logging once every 5 seconds, I get about a day of log before the battery is flat and, as it takes AA rechargables (and will charge from USB), extending the time is as easy as swapping batteries. The only negative I have is that mine has slid across the dash of my car, crashing into either end too many times, and now is very unreliable. But I am buying another DG100 to replace it, so it's obvious that I like it.
